Just kidddinnngggg! lol.

On Sunday, after our last buffet lunch, we finally get to know our groups and who our group leaders are!

Here are the 6 groups!

Before the grouping, we had 2 speakers to come to talk to us on Boy-Girl Relationships. We had 2 sermons, 1 for the younger ones and the other for the 16 and above. The “older” side ended with a conclusion. And that would be the…key principle for consideration: PURITY

ALSO…

There will be a follow-up sermon this Sunday! We get to choose between the message on “Purity” or “Unequally yoked relationships“. Those who have chosen the yellow slip will be attending the message on “Unequally Yolked Relationships” while the white slips get to attend the one on “Purity”.

Don’t worry if you’ve not gotten a colour slip, there will be extras!

OH OH OH! On Sunday, after lunch we enjoyed a couple of games.

The last game we played required us to write our name on a piece of paper.

This slip of paper was then passed around, along with two interesting facts about ourselves.

But each time it was being exchanged, the person holding it has a chance to change a little of those facts.

It was pretty funny because that interesting fact you told no longer stayed a fact.

This game was held to recognise and know more about our 6 YM helpers!

They are Arnold, Tony, Yanling, Jasper, Shuyi and Wilfred.

HEYYY again!!

How’s the neeeew year coming along? For the sec ONEs, are you getting along with your neeew friends in your neeew school?

Well, on Sunday, we had a special buffet-ish lunch to ‘welcome’ our new sec ONEs.

And of course.. It came with a price.. So please bring an additional $2.50 every sunday if you want to EAT.

After lunch, we gathered in the sanctuary to welcome our 2 newcomers!

And and and.. Our dear sec ONEs! We had them and their neeew buddies to play a game where they picked random numbers and had to do what was said.

Ohhhh.. These two had to stuff marshmellows into their mouths and say “Chubby Bunny”. They looked like they were enjoying the marshmellows. Man, I wish someone would stuff marshmellows into my mouth.. Just kiddinggg! Anyway, Shuyi had 2 marshmellows in her mouth while Tom had 6.

Then then then.. We all had fun playing this mini game where we had to ask someone to write down on our sheet of paper an interesting fact about him/herself.

After making new friends and stuffs, we had worship!! We sang quite a few songs and then Pastor Kelvin came to talk to us about “A NEW YEAR’s RESOLUTION WORTH KEEPING!”

Have we all remembered what are the 5 steps we are going to take to fulfill our resolutions?

1. Honour –
2. Grow –
3. Build -
4. Serve -
5. Reach -

Pastor Kelvin also told us the 3 things that are required if we want to fulfil our resolutions.

• Passionate Conviction ( 1 Peter 4: 1-2;  John 14: 21 )
• Spiritual Reliance ( John 14: 14 )
• Prayerful Support & Encouragement ( Ephesians 6: 18;  Hebrews 10: 24-25 )

We should all start our new year off right, with a positive mindset!

What would we like to be doing?

How do we want to be feeling?

Are there changes we would like to see in ourselves or our situations?

Here are some things you can do to prepare for 2009:

• Scan through your apartment, one room at a time. Jot down on a piece of paper, what are the things that have been bothering you in 2008. Beside each item, write down what you can do to remedy the situation. For example, if your study desk is dirtied with food wrappers or unorganized books and files such that you have little or no space to work on, clear the rubbish and put the books/files onto shelves! If every time you go to pack up leftovers you cause a landslide of Tupperware, downsize your Tupperware cupboard! Recycle those margarine and yogurt containers instead of keeping 20 of each. Make sure each piece has a lid and put all the lids into one larger container so that they are all in one place instead of all over the place.

• Gather your loved ones together on New Year’s Eve and celebrate, bringing the new year in with a Happy New Year cheer/song. Sing to the New Year exactly at midnight. Make your new years resolution prior to going to bed.

• Go the mall and give yourself a treat. Buy yourself something interesting that’ll be useful for the next year. You can even get a makeover so you’ll have a new look for the New Year!

• Stay positive and posses a good outlook in life. Don’t forget to thank God for another year of opportunities.

Anyway, some updates.

There will be no YM tomorrow but you are encouraged to come for morning service which starts at 10am. And there is a short YM briefing after morning service, so stay back for a short while.

Enjoy your December holidays!

Before YM started, we had our surprise lunch, which was Nasi Lemak, personally served to us by the GAMpong camp committee who was dressed in kampong “outfits”.

After lunch, we were gathered together to have a POWER prayer session during YM time which was called “Rephidim”. And with this session, we prayed for many things; from the youths to the leaders to the upcoming events! LOTS of upcoming events.

The power of prayer is indeed amazing! And so we prayed for our fellow youths, and occasions to come! Not to mention GAM-pong! (Yes we all know everybody’s excited. Last year’s was yawsome.) And God really does answer prayers! So don’t pray with reluctance, but pray with faith and conviction! We can all be sure that we’ll have a really good time, and nobody will be injured. (Severely) Everything would seem to be more meaningful is we pray. Pray. PRAY.

Also, an exciting list of programs for the following three weeks. Freedom is.. Commencing on the 16th of November! Games games games, movie screening and food and sharing! Who says there’s nothing to do during the hols?
